Samsung Galaxy S5 Phone: LineageOS 14.1 Android 7.1 Upgrade – Guide to Install

  1. Download the ROM.zip file specific to your phone.
  2. Download the Gapps.zip file [arm -7.1] for LineageOS 14.
  3. Connect your phone to your PC.
  4. Copy both .zip files to your phone’s storage.
  5. Disconnect your phone and power it off completely.
  6. Enter TWRP recovery by holding Volume Up + Home Button + Power Key while turning on the device.
  7. In TWRP recovery, perform a wipe of cache, factory data reset, and go to advanced options > dalvik cache.
  8. After wiping, select “Install” option.
  9. Choose “Install > Locate and select lineage-14.1-xxxxxxx-golden.zip file > Yes” to flash the ROM.
  10. Once the ROM is installed, return to the main recovery menu.
  11. Again, select “Install > Locate and select Gapps.zip file > Yes”
  12. To flash the Gapps.
  13. Reboot your device.
  14. After a brief moment, your device should be running Android 7.1 Nougat with LineageOS 14.1.
