OnePlus Phones 3/3T: Beta Android 7.1.1 Download & Install

OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users now have the option to download and install the beta version of Android 7.1.1. These firmware are nearing completion and are considered safe for installation.

OnePlus users have reason to celebrate as the company has recently released the Oxygen OS Open Beta 3 for OnePlus 3T and Open Beta 12 for OnePlus 3, both based on the Android 7.1 Nougat firmware. OnePlus has demonstrated efficiency in its software updates, quickly following the official release of Android 7.0 Nougat with this new update. While the current update is still in the beta stage, we anticipate the final build will be available soon. With this update, users of the OnePlus 3 and 3T can expect a variety of new features, increased stability, and improved performance.

There are several noteworthy changes in the latest update for OnePlus users, with the most significant being the upgrade to Android 7.1.1.   • Please download the file and rename it to oneplus3_openbeta12.zip.

OnePlus Phones 3/3T: Beta Android 7.1.1 Download & Install – Stock Recovery Option

  1. Before you begin, make sure to back up all your data. Follow the instructions attentively, ensure your phone is sufficiently charged to avoid any interruptions and utilize the original data cable throughout the process.
  2. Download and set up the Android ADB and Fastboot drivers on your computer.
  3. Upon installation of the ADB drivers referenced above, a Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder will be created on your Windows installation drive, typically located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot. Additionally, you will find the Minimal ADB and Fastboot.exe file on your desktop.
  4. Next, transfer the OnePlus 3 beta 12 Android 7.1.1 or OnePlus 3T beta 3 Android 7.1.1 Nougat firmware.zip file to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder.
  5. Now, it is necessary to place your OnePlus 3/3T into recovery mode and connect it to your PC.
  6. Power off your OnePlus 3/3T entirely.
  7. Hold down the Volume Down + Home Key to enter the OnePlus 3/3T stock recovery.
  8. Once your phone enters the stock recovery mode, choose the “Install from USB” option.
  9. Now, proceed to connect your phone to the computer.
  10. Next, launch the MAF32.exe file from the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder, or locate and run the Minimal ADB and Fastboot.exe file on your desktop.
  11. A command prompt window will now appear.
  12. In the command prompt window, input the following command.
  1. For OnePlus 3: adb sideload oneplus3_openbeta12.zip
  2. For OnePlus 3T: adb sideload oneplus3t_openbeta3.zip

Alternative Method: Install Android 7.1.1 Nougat on OnePlus 3/3T using TWRP recovery.

  1. Download and install TWRP recovery on OnePlus 3
  2. Download and install TWRP recovery on OnePlus 3T
  3. Follow the steps outlined in this guide to flash the firmware.

Note: Once you install the beta firmware, OTA updates will not be accessible. To receive future OTA updates, reinstall the Oxygen OS on your device. You can easily flash the latest Oxygen OS by following the instructions provided in this guide.
